The pair of them are practically up to their ankles in it! The villagers think that his sister Florette is his closest relative and will inherit - someone Cesar possibly knew many years ago. I like the illustrations; tho I couldn't make out the words the faces match the story so far. I don't remember "chasper" coming up in sixth form when I was a girl in the olden days!
Je pense que Ugolin et Papet avez beaucoup besoin de le source et de l'argent pour faire leur affaires. Les fleurs. Alors, j'ai peur ce que un continuation de les meurtres etre la normalite dans cet livre. Hope this makes some kind of sense!
Don't worry - that is the end of the villagers taking each other out, with no visible input from the authorities....but they are up to other slightly dodgy work next chapter (no violence, mind). Have you seen the film, Joyce? It's gorgeous with a gorgeous soundtrack. I know the book wouldn't suggest this, but the film starts in a couple of chapters for us.
